Rowdy look at Copenhagen Fashion Week: When Scandi Went
We weren’t in Copenhagen this season — but oh, did we watch. From our Rowdy corner, eyes glued to the streams and street snaps, it felt like the city was whispering a new fashion love language: the kind where minimalism flirts shamelessly with maximalism, and every outfit tells a story you want to be in.
Lace was the surprise co-star — not demure or romantic, but worn over denim, under leather, and dripping with a rebellious streak. Stripes and polka dots lost their polite charm and came back louder, bolder, unafraid to clash. Oversized tailoring swept through like a confident stranger at a party — think blazers you could get lost in, balloon trousers with swagger, and clutches so big they made handbags look shy. Then came the drama: Cecilie Bahnsen marking her 10th anniversary with sculptural dresses, silver shimmer, and the kind of volume you feel in your chest before you see it.
And the venues — Copenhagen never plays safe. Forest paths, royal stables, swimming pools, underground breweries… the city itself became the runway, blurring the line between fashion show and fever dream. Out on the streets, neutrals met sudden flashes of red, sheer skirts floated over jeans, and accessories spoke first in every conversation.
Watching from afar, we couldn’t help but wonder — is this the start of a bolder Scandi era? One where the clean lines and quiet palettes still hold court, but they’re joined by grit, theatre, and a wink? If Copenhagen Fashion Week SS26 is anything to go by, we’re saying yes. Loudly.
